The long-term vision of Cheruthana Grama Panchayat is to achieve:
- Inclusive Development: Ensure basic infrastructure for every household and provide quality health and education services.
- Digital Governance: Deliver transparent, efficient, and citizen-friendly services through e-Gram Swaraj and the K-SMART Panchayat platform.
- Environmental Sustainability: Promote a waste-free environment, water conservation, and strengthen the Green Army (Haritha Karma Sena).
- Social Justice: Eradicate poverty, uplift marginalized communities, and empower women and youth.
- Financial Self-Reliance: Increase own-source revenue through improved tax collection and generate local resources for development projects.
Mission
To sustain Cheruthana as the No. 1 Panchayat in Kerala through participatory planning and digital governance.
A. Governance and Administration
- Strengthen Gram Sabhas to ensure grassroots-level planning and decision-making.
- Evaluate and improve performance based on the Panchayat Development Index.
- Utilize digital tools such as Sabha Saar to facilitate effective public discussions and participatory governance.
- Ensure timely and efficient delivery of all public services.
B. Infrastructure Development
- Achieve 100% household drinking water connectivity and effective waste management systems.
- Improve rural roads and conserve canals, ponds, and agricultural infrastructure.
- Complete housing support for all eligible beneficiaries through the LIFE Mission Housing Scheme.
C. Human Resource Development
- Transform Anganwadis and schools into smart learning centers and establish digital libraries.
- Ensure a healthy living environment through quality primary healthcare services.
- Strengthen livelihood opportunities through Kudumbashree and the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).
D. Economic Self-Reliance
- Promote agriculture and allied sectors to enhance farmers’ income.
- Encourage micro-enterprises, startups, and tourism-based economic opportunities.
- Ensure timely utilization of Central and State Government grants for sustainable local development.
